Naver to Bring Map Navigation to AI Glasses With Google, Samsung, Meta
Naver says Naver Map navigation will debut on Meta's Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta glasses, with Android support first and iOS to follow.
Naver announced it will expand Naver Map navigation to AI glasses, partnering with Google, Samsung and Meta to deliver the feature.
The navigation service will first be available on Meta's Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta glasses. Naver said the feature is planned to be applied to Google and Samsung's "Intelligent Eyewear", which is scheduled for launch within the year.
With the feature, users can receive voice guidance to their destination through the AI glasses without checking a smartphone screen. Naver said the service will support Android first, with iOS to follow.
Naver also plans to introduce a dedicated AI glasses voice call-up feature, allowing users to make requests such as estimated arrival time or nearby convenience stores.
On Google and Samsung's Intelligent Eyewear, Naver Map is planned to be launched by voice and used for navigation via Gemini. Naver said it plans to expand features linking AI glasses with local information accumulated in Naver Map.
In June, Naver Map introduced a feature providing real-time voice guidance for walking routes, according to digitaltoday.co.kr.
