NeoDra Dynamics unveils 4 m hydraulic robot Neo1 for hazardous sites
The Chinese company says Neo1 stands about 4 m tall, weighs about 1.2 tonnes and can handle up to 500 kg with both arms.
NeoDra Dynamics has unveiled Neo1, a large humanoid robot roughly 4 m tall and about 1.2 tonnes in weight, designed for industrial work that is hard or dangerous for humans. The Chinese robotics company's announcement was reported by etnews.com.
Neo1 has 41 motion axes across its arms, legs and torso. Of these, 39 are hydraulically driven, while 2 electric motors rotate the forearms, according to the company.
NeoDra Dynamics says the robot can handle up to 500 kg with both arms, using hydraulic actuators of about 1 kg each.
The company is positioning Neo1 for sites such as mines, deep sea operations, nuclear power plants and disaster areas — environments where sending human workers carries risk or is impractical.
