Nitori launches 5,990 yen vacuum-insulated coffee maker
The HZ2R01 brews about 8 cups and its stainless steel pot keeps coffee hot or cold without using electricity, Nitori says.
Nitori released a coffee maker, the HZ2R01, on October 15, the company announced. It is priced at 5,990 yen and is available at some Nitori stores and on Nitori Net, according to internet.watch.impress.co.jp.
The machine uses a vacuum-insulated stainless steel pot that keeps brewed coffee hot without electricity and can also keep drinks cold. The pot has a wide mouth that can accommodate large ice cubes.
Brewing relies on shower drip extraction, which spreads hot water evenly through the coffee grounds, and the unit can make about 8 cups per extraction. A water level window shows how much water remains in the tank.
The water tank and filter case use slide-type lids that open sideways rather than flipping up. The main unit measures about 190 x 317 x 332 mm and weighs about 1.98 kg including the pot. A measuring spoon is included.
