Nvidia unveils DSX POD to cut AI factory build time to 14 days
The reference design ships Vera Rubin AI factories in pre-integrated containers, with partner supply planned from early 2027.
Nvidia announced a reference design called DSX POD at GTC Berlin in Berlin, Germany, on October 21. The design lets partners deliver a Vera Rubin-based AI factory inside a modular container, according to digitaltoday.co.kr.
Computing, networking, cabling, rack-level power and liquid cooling integration and installation are completed at the manufacturing plant before shipping. Because the containers are pre-tested at the factory, Nvidia says the approach reduces the risk of component delays and on-site construction errors.
The main effect is on schedules: on-site build time falls from 6 months to as short as 14 days. Nvidia describes the point when a new AI factory starts running models for actual service as "time to first token."
Nvidia plans to supply DSX POD AI factories worldwide from early 2027 together with partners including Dell Technologies, Delta, Eaton, Foxconn (Ingrasys), GIGABYTE, HPE, Lenovo, Pegatron, QCT, Schneider Electric, Vertiv and Wistron.
