Nvidia's Jeff Fisher says RTX 5090 isn't discontinued, will keep shipping
The senior VP reportedly addressed supply constraints, but Nvidia did not respond to a request for comment and listings remain scarce or heavily marked up.
Nvidia senior vice president Jeff Fisher reportedly said the RTX 5090 has not been discontinued and will continue to ship, according to Taiwanese outlets 4Gamers and SJTV, which quoted a purported post-event interview. Tom's Hardware reported the remarks.
According to the same reports, Fisher said supply chain capacity is somewhat constrained, but that Nvidia is doing everything it can to get the product to market.
Nvidia did not reply to Tom's Hardware's request for comment on the reported statements.
Retail availability remains patchy. As of the article, RTX 5090 cards were listed on Amazon by third-party sellers at about $8,500, Best Buy showed no cards in stock, and Newegg listed RTX 5090s at about $7,300, apparently from Chinese sellers based on shipping times. The card was also absent from Nvidia's own marketplace and from Micro Center.
Earlier context
The reported comments follow a period in which Nvidia reportedly put the RTX 50 Super series on hold, and rumors later circulated that RTX 5090 production was stopping, possibly to free silicon capacity for AI accelerators. Multiple outlets, including Tom's Hardware, had asked Nvidia for official comment without receiving a reply.
