Nvidia Enters Windows Laptop Market With RTX Spark, Sales Start at $2,599
Nvidia announced the RTX Spark laptop on October 16, with nine models from six partners and sales starting the same day at a starting price of $2,599.
Nvidia announced on October 16 that it is entering the Windows laptop market with the RTX Spark laptop, which combines a GPU and CPU on one chip. Sales started on October 16 local time with a starting price of 2,599 dollars, according to digitaltoday.co.kr.
Six companies — Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft and MSI — unveiled nine models, including the ProArt P14, XPS 16 and Surface Laptop Ultra. The RTX Spark superchip contains Nvidia's Blackwell RTX GPU and Grace CPU, with up to 128GB of unified memory shared between CPU and GPU. AI compute performance is 1 petaflop at 4-bit floating point (FP4), and the custom CPU design was developed together with MediaTek.
The company said users can run AI agents such as GitHub Copilot, Hermes, OpenClo and Perplexity with an installer, without command-line input. Agent permission management is handled by the OpenShell security runtime and Microsoft Execution Containers (MXC), and Nvidia Pair can offload AI inference to Windows, Linux and macOS computers on the home network. Nvidia also introduced Nemotron 3.5 Volt, a 74-billion-parameter model for tool calling and multi-step tasks.
Software and creative workload support
Adobe added Nvidia's TensorRT inference acceleration to AI editing features in Photoshop, Premiere and Substance 3D. Photoshop and Premiere support RTX Spark in beta at launch, with Substance support to be added later. In ComfyUI, AI video generated at 15 FPS can be converted to 60 FPS HDR video with a wider contrast range. A new model that speeds up DLSS 5 by up to 1.4x is available from October 16.
Nvidia said 8K 4:2:2 video editing and rendering of 3D scenes up to 90GB are possible on battery power alone. CEO Jensen Huang said RTX Spark packs supercomputer, gaming PC and workstation performance into one slim, power-efficient device.
