Odyssey released a research preview of its foundation world model Odyssey-3 on October 8, according to aitimes.com. The release includes a free playground that lets users try a real-time world model based on the fast variant Odyssey-3 Flash.

Odyssey-3 Pro scored 66.1 on the video-to-video benchmark of Physics-IQ Verified and 54.7 on the image-to-video evaluation of the same benchmark. Odyssey-3 ranked first in three of four categories on the WorldMark benchmark.

The company trained the model using internet videos, timestamped event annotations, gameplay footage with keyboard and mouse inputs, and rigid-body interaction data from physics simulations.

When applied to the control policy of humanoid robot company Flexion, the model performed more stably than existing vision-language-action models under adverse conditions such as lighting changes.

Earlier work

Odyssey is led by autonomous driving and robotics veterans Oliver Cameron and Jeff Hawke. Previous models such as Odyssey-2 Pro demonstrated the potential of real-time world simulators, in earlier tests with titles including Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2.
