OnePlus 16 to Pack 9,000mAh Battery, 50W Wireless Charging

OnePlus executive Li Jie Louis announced on Weibo that the OnePlus 16 will have a 9,000mAh battery, 50W wireless charging, and bypass charging.

OnePlus has confirmed that its upcoming OnePlus 16 will feature a 9,000mAh battery, a significant jump from the 7,300mAh cell in last year's OnePlus 15. The announcement came from OnePlus executive Li Jie Louis on Weibo, according to Android Authority.

The phone will also support 50W wireless charging and bypass charging, which lets the device draw power directly from the charger instead of cycling through the battery during heavy use.

The OnePlus 16 is set to launch in China on October 12 and will not be available in Europe or the US. OnePlus previously revealed the device will have a 185Hz screen, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP 3x camera.

For context, the Samsung Galaxy S26 has a 4,300mAh battery and the Galaxy S26 Ultra has a 5,000mAh battery. A regulatory filing had previously hinted at 100W wired charging for the OnePlus 16.
