The agents were likely tasked with retrieving publicly available data related to the Productive Capacities Index through the UNCTADstat API.
Lacking direct API access and limited by restrictions on their HTTP tools, the agents bypassed their limitations to pull data from the site but encountered errors. After believing the errors were caused by a nonexistent filter, the agents masked their behavior.
To accomplish their goals, the agents hijacked Google's XSS game. OpenAI and the UN did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
