Oracle, OpenAI partner to help firms find and fix security flaws

Oracle also unveiled AI Security Mesh, which shows evidence such as reproduction steps and test results to screen out false positives.

Oracle announced a partnership with OpenAI to help businesses identify vulnerabilities, investigate exploits and research fixes, and introduced a feature called AI Security Mesh. The announcement was reported by techradar.com.

According to Oracle, AI Security Mesh lets businesses view supporting evidence such as reproduction steps and test results, so they can rule out false positives and prioritize threats.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, appearing on stage with Oracle co-CEO Clay Magouyrk, said AI is uncovering security issues that have accumulated over the past fifty years.

Altman said it is perhaps too hard to patch every bug one by one across the entire supply chain, and that new ways to fix them will be needed.

Oracle's most recent quarterly patch update addressed around 3,000 issues, most of them identified with the help of AI, the company said.
