Rivian has released a Ghostbusters-themed Halloween software update for its R1S, R1T, and R2 electric vehicles. The update adds a Trick or Treat mode to the main display that resembles a Ghostbusters control panel, according to techradar.com.
The R2 receives the 2026.36.40 update, while the R1 receives the 2026.36.0 update. The Trick or Treat mode includes preset light and sound shows named Ecto-1, Proton Pack, Slimer, Ghost Trap, Peter Venkman, and Random.
The Ghostbusters theme extends to the screen behind the steering wheel and the Rivian app on Android and iOS.

Bill Murray appeared at a special event where he rode in the passenger seat of the Ecto-R1. Murray described the vehicle as 'just technical enough, and just silly enough to be perfect'.
