Samsung, LG Show Government Their Energy Self-Sufficient Homes
Officials led by the climate and energy minister toured Samsung's AI Modular Home and LG's Smart Cottage Village on October 14.
Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics each presented their energy self-sufficient modular housing models to government officials on October 14, according to techm.kr.
Officials including the Minister of Climate, Energy and Environment visited Samsung's AI Modular Home in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, and LG's Smart Cottage Village in Jincheon, North Chungcheong Province, the two companies said.
Samsung said it plans to expand its business by combining high-efficiency appliances with AI-based energy solutions, led by its heat pump solution. Individual households can cut energy costs through SmartThings Energy, the company said, while large residential complexes can use SmartThings Pro for integrated management.
LG said Smart Cottage is an energy self-sufficient modular house that manages energy use efficiently and takes both energy production and consumption into account.
Earlier this year, both companies began aggressively targeting the domestic modular housing and heat pump markets.
