Samsung Rolls Out Redesigned SmartThings App to Android
Samsung is rolling out SmartThings version 1.8.51.30 to Android, adding resizable device and routine cards, a TV remote light mode, and a new Home tab layout.
Samsung has begun rolling out a redesigned version of its SmartThings app to Android devices. The update, arriving as version 1.8.51.30, follows the same redesign that reached iOS devices a couple of days before October 1, 2026.
The new build introduces a more compact layout for device and routine cards, and it lets users resize and rearrange those cards to suit their preferences. The built-in TV remote has also been updated with a light mode option, and it can now be resized or repositioned on screen.
On the Home tab, Samsung has added a dedicated top section for weather updates and suggested routines. A separate Favorites section surfaces pinned devices and routines for quicker access.
The rollout was first reported by androidauthority.com. Samsung has not specified a completion date for the Android rollout.
