Sony Unveils Pulse Wireless Headset, Pre-Orders Open October 29

Sony's new Midnight Black and White headset ships November 19, the same day Grand Theft Auto 6 arrives on PS5, with a Pulse Edge model following in early 2027.

Sony has announced the PlayStation Pulse Wireless Headset in Midnight Black and White, set to launch on November 19. Pre-orders open on October 29 at 10AM local time through PlayStation Direct and participating retailers, according to screenrant.com.

The headset will be sold in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and a number of European countries including the U.K., France and Germany. Sony said release dates for additional countries will be announced later.

Sony says the Pulse Wireless Headset uses custom studio-inspired planar magnetic drivers, with larger planar drivers than before for deeper bass. It supports PlayStation Link for connecting to PS5, PlayStation Portal, PC and Mac, and Sony claims it offers AI-enhanced noise rejection.

Pulse Edge Arrives Later

Sony also announced the Pulse Edge Wireless Headset, which packs 8 magnets per planar driver and a hidden, detachable boom mic. That model is not due out until early 2027.

The November 19 launch puts the headset on shelves the same day Grand Theft Auto 6 arrives on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Sony previously released the PS5 on November 12, 2020, at $499 for the base console and $399 for the digital edition.
