Tesla Q3 Deliveries Fall 2.1% but Beat Estimates

Tesla delivered 486,532 vehicles in Q3, beating analyst estimates of 461,974, but sales fell about 2.1% year over year.

Tesla delivered 486,532 vehicles in the third quarter of this year, the company reported, beating the sell-side analyst consensus estimate of 461,974 compiled by the company. The delivery figure includes 481,166 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles and 8,295 other vehicles.

Production for the quarter totaled 464,391 vehicles, comprising 457,387 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles and 7,004 other vehicles. That production number represents about a 3.8 percent increase compared with the third quarter of 2025.

Deliveries, however, were down about 2.1 percent from the same period a year earlier, when Tesla delivered 497,099 vehicles. In the third quarter of 2025, Tesla produced 447,450 vehicles.

The year-over-year decline follows the expiration of the $7,500 federal electric vehicle tax credit on September 30, 2025. Elon Musk had said the company was in for "a few rough quarters" because of the expiring incentive and other macroeconomic factors.

Tesla has also been pushing into new vehicle categories. In July, it launched the steering-wheel- and pedal-less Cybercab in Austin. Musk predicted that 50 percent of the US population would have access to Tesla's robotaxis by the end of 2025, a prediction that turned out to be wrong. The company discontinued the Model S and X earlier this year.
