TP-Link signs letter of intent with Key Tronic to assemble routers in Mississippi

Production is expected to begin as soon as early next year, and TP-Link says it intends to build Wi-Fi 8 routers in the US.

TP-Link has signed a letter of intent with electronics manufacturer Key Tronic to support router assembly in Mississippi, the company said. The router maker said it intends to bring router production to the US and to make Wi-Fi 8 routers there, with production expected to begin as soon as early next year.

TP-Link CEO Jeffrey Chao said the deal supports expanding domestic advanced manufacturing. Key Tronic CEO Brett Larsen said his company's manufacturing experience will support TP-Link's new Wi-Fi 8 technologies.

The letter of intent covers router assembly in Mississippi, including Wi-Fi 8 models. The companies did not provide a start date beyond the expectation of early next year.

A couple of months before October 2026, TSMC announced a further $100 billion investment in US chip production, and the Trump administration levied tariffs on certain imports and pushed companies to buy from local producers.
