The 2K network camera is priced at an estimated 15,800 yen and can run for up to 150 days on a single charge of its built-in battery.
TP-Link Japan has announced it will release the Tapo C425K, a network camera with an integrated solar panel, on October 29. The estimated retail price is 15,800 yen, according to internet.watch.impress.co.jp.
The camera records 2K (2560x1440) video at 15fps and offers a 135-degree diagonal, 113-degree horizontal and 60-degree vertical field of view. It supports both color night vision and infrared monochrome night vision, and its AI detection identifies and sends notifications about people, vehicles and pets.
Footage can be stored on a microSD card of up to 512GB, sold separately, or in the paid Tapo Care cloud service. Connectivity is handled by Wi-Fi 4 (IEEE 802.11n) on the 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands.
The solar panel can be angled 45 degrees vertically, while its mount turns 90 degrees left and right. TP-Link Japan says about 50 minutes of direct sunlight provides enough power for one day of camera operation, and the built-in battery lasts up to 150 days on a full charge.
The body measures 109x84x120mm and carries IP65 dust and water resistance.
