Vitamix Debuts MaxExtract Cold Press Juicer at $500

Vitamix announced the MaxExtract Cold Press Juicer on Monday, the company's first cold-press model. It goes on sale Oct. 15 for $500.
The MaxExtract uses slow-masticating technology to extract juice from fruits, vegetables and leafy greens. It is offered in black or white with a glass front, and buyers can order it from Vitamix.com or Amazon.
The juicer measures 17.7 by 8.5 by 7.7 inches and weighs 8.14 pounds. All detachable parts are dishwasher-safe, and it carries a five-year limited warranty.
Vitamix is best known for its blenders. Among the cold-press juicers it will compete with, the Nama J2 measures 17.7 by 9.8 by 9 inches and weighs 12.1 pounds, and costs $599, while the Hamilton Beach Easy Clean measures 15.31 by 13 by 9 inches and weighs 11.14 pounds.
