VW's ID.Tiguan to Replace ID.4, Launch in Europe Early 2027
Volkswagen will replace the retired ID.4 with the ID.Tiguan, launching in Europe in early 2027 and coming to the US later. The EV gets physical controls and Android Automotive.
Volkswagen has announced that the ID.Tiguan will replace the retired ID.4 crossover. The new electric model is expected to launch in Europe in early 2027, with a US arrival confirmed for a later date.
The ID.4, first introduced in 2020, sold 950,000 units since 2021. Volkswagen ended production of the ID.4 at its Chattanooga factory in April 2026.
The ID.Tiguan will share its interior look with the ID.3 NEO and ID.Polo. It will feature physical controls for windows, volume and climate settings, and will run Volkswagen's Android Automotive-based operating system.
Volkswagen did not say whether the ID.Tiguan will get the Rivian-developed software and zonal architecture. The Verge reported the announcement.
