Xenon's AI inspection passes Nike mass-production validation
Two product types recorded defect detection rates of 99.7% and 99.2% during validation of the footwear manufacturing system in Indonesia.
Xenon said its AI vision inspection technology for Nike footwear manufacturing in Indonesia has passed the brand's mass-production validation, recording defect detection rates of 99.7% and 99.2% for two product types during this year's testing.
The company said the system cleared Nike footwear's final validation. Xenon plans to begin developing the mass-production model within the year and apply it to actual production lines from 2027.
Xenon also won an additional AI vision inspection project this year for detecting fine defects in the stitching and bonding areas of shoe uppers, and intends to extend the inspection scope to midsoles and finished products.
The company has separately taken on a production automation project using physical AI that combines collaborative robots and vision cameras for the shoe outsole pressing process. The plan is to apply technology that lets robots learn motions through remote operation demonstrations by workers.
Beyond footwear, Xenon is developing an AI solution for global marine engineering company IKM Group that analyzes ship-related documents and automatically generates work plan reports.
Earlier work with Nike
In 2025, Xenon began developing AI vision inspection technology to automatically judge defects in Nike shoe outsoles. The company established an Indonesian local corporation this year and aims to post a profit in its first year, according to digitaltoday.co.kr.
