YouTube tests moving dislike button into three-dots menu
Screenshots from users on X and Reddit show the dislike button relocated or missing, though Google has not confirmed the change.
YouTube appears to be testing a change that moves the dislike button off the main row of controls under a video and into the three-dots submenu, according to screenshots shared by users. The outlet 9to5Google reported the test.
At least two users posted images on X showing the dislike button placed inside the three-dots menu, while a Reddit user shared an image in which the dislike button was absent altogether. It is unclear how widely the apparent test may be rolled out.
Google, YouTube's parent company, did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
Earlier changes to dislikes
In 2021, YouTube hid the public dislike count on videos, a move the platform said was intended to help protect creators from harassment. Creators can still see dislike counts on their own videos.
Earlier in 2026, YouTube removed the dislike button from YouTube Shorts and pointed users to options in the three-dots menu.
