Far Cry 3, Blood Dragon to hit Switch 2 in spring 2027

Ubisoft has confirmed that Far Cry 3 Classic Edition and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon Classic Edition will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 in spring 2027, according to screenrant.com.

It marks the first time the Far Cry franchise has appeared on Nintendo Switch 2. Both releases carry the Classic Edition label, the versions Ubisoft has used for its recent re-releases.

Far Cry 3 casts players as Jason Brody, a stranded tourist on a lawless tropical island, with Vaas Montenegro serving as one of the game's antagonists.

The original Far Cry 3 released in 2012 and was set on the fictional Rook Islands archipelago. Blood Dragon, a standalone expansion to Far Cry 3, is styled after 1980s retro-futuristic sci-fi.

Ubisoft did not give a specific release date within the spring 2027 window.
