A new anime titled CODE GEASS Star Chaser Aspal has been announced for 2027. The reveal came with a teaser trailer, a teaser visual, and the main staff lineup.
Kazuya Nomura is directing the project, with Mado Nozaki handling series composition. Rolua is responsible for character designs, and Yoshi. is designing the Agalmata. SUNRISE is credited with the original work, planning, and animation production.
The announcement was reported by animecorner.me. The Code Geass franchise began with Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, an original anime by SUNRISE. Goro Taniguchi directed the original series and Ichiro Okouchi wrote the script, with CLAMP providing the original character designs.
The first season aired from October 2006 to July 2007, followed by Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 from April 2008 to September 2008. Both seasons had 25 episodes each.
The franchise has since expanded with OVA side stories, manga and light novel adaptations, and several movies. A recap movie trilogy released between 2017 and 2018 in an alternate universe, and an original sequel movie, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection, released in 2019.
The latest anime was Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture, released in four parts from May to August 2024. An episodic version streamed on Disney from June 21, 2024.
