Crunchyroll, HAYATE and LINE Digital Frontier announced on October 8, 2026 a partnership to produce anime adaptations of around 15 webtoons, according to Anime News Network. Crunchyroll will stream the resulting anime exclusively in select territories.

HAYATE Inc. was founded in March 2025 and is headquartered in Tokyo. Aniplex's Masanori Miyake leads the company as Chairman and CEO alongside President and COO Leo Watanabe. In April 2025, HAYATE acquired all shares of anime studio Lay-duce, making it a wholly owned subsidiary, and it is overseeing production of the upcoming Ghost of Tsushima: Legends anime series.
LINE Digital Frontier has been expanding its webtoon-to-anime pipeline. CEO Shin-bae Kim said in February 2025 that the company would produce 20 animated adaptations of webtoons that year. LINE Manga produced 12 webtoon adaptations in 2024, up from 2 in 2023 and 1 in 2022.
