Roman Was Added Mid-Development to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2
Showrunner Bartosz Sztybor says the character was not in the original pitch and took shape over 18 months of story discussions.
Roman was not part of the original pitch for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners season 2 and was created later in development, showrunner and franchise VP Bartosz Sztybor said on a recent REDStreams talk, according to gamesradar.com.
Sztybor said the character emerged during roughly 18 months of back-and-forth while the storyline was being developed. The team needed a figure who could bind all the other characters together.
He added that Roman was made a movie buff because the team loves cinema and physical media. Discussions with series director Kai Ikarashi about films including Magnolia and A Clockwork Orange fed into the character's creation.
In Edgerunners 2, Roman is a Night City boy obsessed with analog film rather than braindances.
Earlier, Cyberpunk 2077 received a 2.5 update that included a quest where the player's V takes a job from King and can wield his gun, Coronation.
