The news follows the airing of the 12th and final episode of the first season on Friday. The anime premiered on July 3 on NTV's Friday Anime Night programming block, with Crunchyroll streaming it as it airs in Japan.
Hiroaki Akagi directed the series at Shinei Animation. Tatsuya Kitani performs the opening theme song "Isho," while Regal Lily performs the ending theme "Conifer."
Toyoda launched the manga in Shogakukan's Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine in November 2021, and the ninth compiled volume shipped on June 12. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga for release.
The series has drawn critical recognition: it won the 16th Manga Taisho awards in 2023 and took home an award at the 70th Shogakukan Manga Awards in January 2025. Anime News Network reported the second-season announcement.
