Happily Kanako's Hitman Life Anime Set for April 2027 With Drama Crossover Visual
A crossover visual shows the live-action drama's Kanako and the anime's Kanako back to back; the anime broadcasts in April 2027.
A collaboration visual linking the live-action drama and anime versions of Happily Kanako's Hitman Life was released on November 6, 2026, showing the drama's Kanako and the anime's Kanako standing back to back, according to animeanime.jp. The same announcement confirmed that the anime will begin broadcasting in April 2027.
The collaboration was announced to mark two developments: the final episode of season 2 of the live-action drama on DMM TV, and the decision to produce an anime adaptation.
The anime features a voice cast led by a performer voicing Nishino Kanako, the same character played by Non in the live-action drama. Direction and series composition are handled by Shinji Takamatsu, with character design and chief animation direction by Yoshiyuki Okubo. Animation production is by Drive.
The original is a four-panel manga by Minoru Wakabayashi, a comedy about changing careers to become a hitman. The manga's cumulative print run has surpassed 1.2 million copies, and the live-action drama series, also starring Taisuke Fujigaya, has been a hit.
Latest adaptation news
The April 2027 broadcast date follows the end of the drama's second season on DMM TV, which was the occasion for the crossover project. No further broadcast details were included in the announcement.
