IG Port Q1 profit jumps 74% as video production returns to profit

IG Port reported consolidated first-quarter results for the fiscal year ending May 2027, with revenue of 3.306 billion yen, up 7.9% year on year, according to gamebiz.jp. Operating profit rose 74.1% to 342 million yen, ordinary profit climbed 81.7% to 384 million yen and net profit was 290 million yen, up 45.8%.

The video production segment returned to profitability, posting revenue of 2.25 billion yen, up 18.9%, and operating profit of 276 million yen. In the same period a year earlier the segment recorded an operating loss of 136 million yen.

The rights business saw revenue fall 22.7% to 386 million yen, with operating profit down 72.1% to 90 million yen. Publishing revenue slipped 3.4% to 536 million yen and operating profit fell 10.9% to 80 million yen. Merchandise revenue rose 34.1% to 64 million yen but the segment's operating loss widened to 41 million yen from 19 million yen a year earlier.

IG Port left its full-year forecast for the fiscal year ending May 2027 unchanged, projecting revenue of 14.578 billion yen, operating profit of 579 million yen, ordinary profit of 546 million yen and net profit of 311 million yen.

In October 2025, the company reported revenue of 14.598 billion yen, operating profit of 1.426 billion yen, ordinary profit of 1.42 billion yen and net profit of 828 million yen for the fiscal year ended May 2025.
