The original story by Renren Ii began serialization on Kadokawa's Kakuyomu website in December 2023 and remains ongoing. Kadokawa published the first print volume on March 21 with illustrations by Fujiko, followed by the third volume on August 24. The fourth volume is scheduled to ship on November 20.
Katsuwo is known for Hitori Bocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu, which launched in the inaugural issue of Comic Dengeki Daioh G in September 2013 and ended in April 2021. Kadokawa published the manga's eighth and final volume in June 2021, and the series inspired a television anime adaptation in April 2019 that Crunchyroll streamed.
