LEGO Ideas Totoro Set Hits 10,000 Supporters, Enters Review

The fan-designed project, with 2,341 pieces and five minifigures, moves into the third LEGO Ideas review of 2026 after passing 10,000 backers.

A LEGO Ideas submission titled "My Neighbor Totoro 1988" reached 10,000 supporters on October 14, 2026, and has advanced to the Review stage on LEGO Ideas, according to cbr.com. The project now qualifies for the platform's third review of 2026, which covers ideas that gather 10,000 supporters between September 2026 and January 4, 2027.

The proposed set comprises 2,341 pieces and five minifigures, among them the large, medium and small Totoros along with the sisters Mei and Satsuki Kusakabe. The large Totoro figure ships with two swappable face pieces, one neutral and one smiling.

The build is based on an iconic promotional illustration showing the large Totoro fishing alongside Mei and Satsuki. Accessories include three fishing rods, a red crayfish on Mei's rod, Satsuki's fishing bucket, Mei's satchel and small leaf stems.

Reaching Review does not guarantee the set will be produced; LEGO Ideas submissions must still be assessed before any release. The source film, Studio Ghibli's My Neighbor Totoro, was directed and written by Hayao Miyazaki and opened in Japan on April 16, 1988, with a runtime of 86 minutes.
