New Manga Launches, Iruma-kun Film, Umaru-chan 100 Announced
Manga launches include Mibun ga Gyakuten Itashimashite and Kyokuhoku Tengoku, plus a new Iruma-kun film and Umaru-chan 100 series.
Several new manga and anime projects were announced, including a new series from Sankaku Head and a film for Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun.
Machibari and Seseri's Mibun ga Gyakuten Itashimashite manga will launch on October 17, with Itoko credited for character designs. Juan Albarrán and Kōta Matsuda will launch Kyokuhoku Tengoku: Escape From The Far North on October 25. Albarrán is the artist for the Matagi Gunner manga, which was written by Shōji Fujimoto, launched in Kodansha's Morning magazine in 2022, and ended with its 11th compiled volume in June 2025.
A television anime of Kashiko Amane's Everyone's Darling Has a Secret manga will premiere next April, starring Reiji Kawashima and Hikaru Tōno. Sankaku Head will launch Umaru-chan 100, a new series in the Himouto! Umaru-chan manga, on Shueisha's Young Jump+ platform on October 1. The original manga launched in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump in 2013.
MIXI announced a new anime in the Monster Strike franchise titled Mera×Death: Shinigami to Boku no Ijō na Koi, which will debut in Japan on January 5, 2027 on TOKYO MX and 10 other channels, as well as on streaming services. The 'DEVIL'S PARTY! 2' special event announced that the Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun anime's first film project is launching with a brand-new story, and the video also celebrated the upcoming 10th anniversary of the original manga in March 2027.
Film director and screenwriter Toshio Masuda died of old age on August 26 at age 98. Born in Kobe in October 1927, he made his directorial debut in 1958 with Kokoro to Nikutai no Tabi.
