Maou 2099 Light Novel Ends With Sixth Volume, Kadokawa Says

Fantasia Bunko announced on its official X account that Daigo Murasaki's series will conclude with volume six; Yen Press publishes it in English.

Kadokawa's Fantasia Bunko label announced on Tuesday that Daigo Murasaki's light novel Maou 2099 will end with its sixth volume. The announcement was made on the label's official X account, as reported by MyAnimeList.

The series is published under the Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint with illustrations by Kureta. Yen Press licensed the light novel in English.

Murasaki's path to the series began in 2020, when he won the Grand Prize at the 33rd Fantasia Taisho with a work titled Ken to Maou no Cyberpunk. He renamed it Maou 2099 and began publishing it under Fujimi Fantasia Bunko in January 2021. The fifth volume was released in November 2024.

The novels have been adapted into manga twice. Kiiro Akashiro began the first adaptation on Shounen Ace Plus in November 2021, and it was discontinued in June 2022. Yutaka Sakurai's second adaptation ran on the same website from March 2023 to August 2024, and Kadokawa released its third and final volume in September 2024.

Yen Press licensed the second manga in July 2025. A 12-episode television anime adaptation produced by J.C.Staff aired in Fall 2024 and was simulcast by Crunchyroll.
