Matsumoto Pens Obi Blurb for Roku's House of Oddities Volume 2

The Kaiju No. 8 creator's recommendation appears on the wraparound obi of the horror-comedy manga's second volume, released in Japan on November 4, 2026.

Naoya Matsumoto, creator of Kaiju No. 8, wrote a recommendation for Atsushi Nakamura's manga Roku's House of Oddities, and the blurb appears on the wraparound obi of the series' second volume, which went on sale in Japan on November 4, 2026.

Roku's House of Oddities is a horror-comedy serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump. Viz Media publishes the English simulpub on the Shonen Jump app and on Shueisha's Manga Plus.

Nakamura said Matsumoto has helped him since his days as an assistant, and asked readers to support both the digital and physical release.

Second Shonen Jump endorsement for the series

Blue Lock author Yusuke Nomura previously recommended the manga, with his blurb appearing on the first volume. Roku's House of Oddities launched its first chapter in April 2026 as part of Weekly Shonen Jump's Spring 2026 slate, alongside Masayoshi Satosho's Drawn to the Fire and Hideaki Sorachi's Class 2-B Hero Destroyerz, and placed ninth in the print category of the 2026 Next Manga Awards.

Matsumoto's Kaiju No. 8 broke multiple circulation records during its serialization and has since ended. Nakamura previously published the sci-fi comedy Agravity Boys in Weekly Shonen Jump from December 2019 to January 2021, collected in seven volumes.
