Sam Maggs Wants to Adapt Dragon Age as a WEBTOON Series
The writer of Recollection: A Star Trek Story says the mage-templar conflict makes Dragon Age a natural fit for the vertical-scroll format.
Writer Sam Maggs said in an interview that she would like to adapt the Dragon Age franchise into a WEBTOON series, according to cbr.com. Maggs, who writes Recollection: A Star Trek Story for the platform, pointed to the series' mage and templar conflict as one reason the games would suit the format.
Maggs works as a video game writer alongside her comics work, and her Star Trek series premiered on WEBTOON in late July. She has also previously worked on Picard's Academy for IDW.
Dragon Age began with Dragon Age: Origins, which BioWare released in 2009 and which sold millions of copies within two years. Dragon Age II followed two years later, and Dragon Age: Inquisition, released in 2014, closed out the original trilogy.
No deal, platform confirmation or release details for a Dragon Age WEBTOON have been announced. Maggs' comments describe an ambition rather than a confirmed project.
