Starbucks Japan and Pokémon Launch First Collaboration
Starbucks Japan and Pokémon team up for the first time, debuting tumblers on September 30 alongside a Pikachu Honey Cream Latté and merchandise.
Starbucks Japan and Pokémon announced their first collaboration on Thursday, bringing the franchise's characters to the coffee chain's menu and merchandise lineup.
The collaboration kicks off with tumblers on September 30. A Pikachu Honey Cream Latté will be sold for 690 yen, while merchandise items range from 1,500 yen to 6,600 yen. An end date for the collaboration has not been announced.
The partnership follows a string of recent Pokémon food tie-ins, including Pokémon-inspired doughnuts with Krispy Kreme and Pokémon Spam sets with CJ CheilJedang for the Chuseok harvest festival, as reported by animenewsnetwork.com.
Separately, SGC created a life-sized golden Pikachu statue standing 50cm tall, made using nearly 200 pieces of gold leaf. The company is exhibiting and selling 24K gold Gholdengo statuettes for 1,540,000 yen.
The Yokohama Dai Ōgon Ten runs from September 30 to October 5 at Yokohama Takashimaya, with free entrance.
