Zundamon Enters Bound as Super Kigurumi Fight Returns
The mascot character was restrained by Shigotoneko as the reigning champion, while the opening Hoppe-chan vs Pagutaro match ended level.
The battle event Super Kigurumi Fight took place on the stage at Ryogokubashi Nishi Park from 11:00 on October 18, 2026, as part of Machiasobi vol.31, according to Gigazine.
Local idol group Chita Musume performed while the characters prepared. Producer Kazuki Yanase hosted the event alongside voice actors Chiaki Omigawa and Yurie Kozakai, who introduced the characters in professional-wrestling entrance style.
Zundamon entered the venue with its hands tied behind its back and could not join the "Yoshi!" pose. Shigotoneko had restrained the character because Zundamon won the May 2026 Super Kigurumi Fight and was considered too strong. Mujina appeared as Shigotoneko's second.
The first match pitted Hoppe-chan, armed with a simple stick, against Pagutaro, who wielded a trident. Under a three-minute time limit, victory went to whoever popped all of the opponent's balloons first. The bout ended in a draw after three minutes with one balloon each remaining, following an emergency re-oiling.
This year's battle replaced drawing pins with sweet orange oil, which dissolves balloons, in a move to improve safety. Omigawa and Kozakai demonstrated the oil-soaked gauze weapon popping a balloon.
