Taisuke Niihara has joined the cast of the live-action My Sister's Boyfriend film, according to Anime News Network. Niihara plays Amamiya, a new assistant producer at the TV station where Momo works.

The film is based on Amu Meguro's manga Midori Loves My Sister, which launched in Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret magazine in 2022. Shueisha published the manga's 11th compiled volume on April 23.

The film opens in Japan on December 4.

Masaki Hashimoto stars as Midori Yukishiro and Runa Nakajima as Sui Sanae. Rinka Kumada plays Momo Sanae and Reo Matsumoto plays Ayame Mizukawa. Mahito Kimura directs the film, with Nami Kikkawa writing the script.

Meguro's earlier manga Honey So Sweet ran in Bessatsu Margaret from August 2012 to November 2015 and inspired a live-action film that opened in March 2018. Her Hinata no Blue manga ended in July 2021.
