Discotek Releases The Big O: The Complete Paradigm Blu-ray
The set packs all 26 episodes from both seasons with Japanese audio and English subtitles, plus the English dub, for $49.95.
Discotek Media has released The Big O: The Complete Paradigm, a Blu-ray collection carrying all 26 episodes of The Big O across both seasons, according to cbr.com.
The set presents the series in 1080p High Definition with 1.33:1 and 4:3 aspect ratios, and includes both the original Japanese audio with English subtitles and the English dub. It is priced at $49.95.
A series that ran from 1999 to 2003
The Big O, created by Hajime Yatate, premiered in 1999 and ran until 2003. Its Japanese viewership fell so low that the original episode count was cut in half, but strong popularity overseas and a favorable critical response ensured a second season was produced.
The story follows Roger Smith, a negotiator in Paradigm City, alongside the robot R. Dorothy Wayneright and his butler Norman Burg. Direction was handled across the series by Ikuro Sato, Tooru Kitahata, Kazuyoshi Katayama, Masakazu Obara and Sumio Watanabe, with scripts from Chiaki J. Konaka and Keiichi Hasegawa.
Discotek Media announced The Big O: The Complete Paradigm alongside several other releases for the year in August 2026. The interquel manga The Big O: Lost Memory ended in 2003.
