Toei Animation cuts sales forecast, raises profit outlook

Toei Animation now expects sales of 98.2 billion yen for the year to March 2027, citing delivery delays, but lifted net profit to 20 billion yen.

Toei Animation revised its full-year consolidated earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 on October 28, 2026, lowering its sales projection while raising profit estimates, according to gamebiz.jp.

The company now expects full-year sales of 98.2 billion yen, down from its previous forecast of 100 billion yen. It attributed the shortfall to delays in title deliveries that shifted into the second half of the fiscal year.

Profit forecasts moved in the opposite direction. Operating profit is now forecast at 26.4 billion yen, up from 25 billion yen, while ordinary profit is projected at 27.7 billion yen, up from 25.6 billion yen. Net profit is expected to reach 20.0 billion yen, compared with the earlier forecast of 18.1 billion yen.

Toei Animation said the profit upgrade was driven by strong sales of streaming rights, mainly in Europe and the US.

For the fiscal year ended March 2026, the company reported sales of 93.669 billion yen, operating profit of 31.018 billion yen, ordinary profit of 33.462 billion yen and net profit of 25.07 billion yen. Toei Animation was founded in January 1948.
