Walküre Announce New Single 'Walküre wa Makerarenai' for March 2027
The Macross Delta idol unit marks its 10th anniversary with a new single featuring jacket art by original character designer Chisato Mita.
Walküre will release a new single titled "Walküre wa Makerarenai" on March 24, 2027, the idol unit announced. The release marks the 10th anniversary of the Macross Delta anime.
A release announcement trailer looking back at Walküre's past songs has also been released. The single's jacket illustration was newly drawn by Chisato Mita of CAPCOM, the original character designer for Macross Delta.
Walküre consists of Minori Suzuki (Freyja Wion), JUNNA (Mikumo Guynemer), Kiyono Yasuno (Kaname Buccaneer), Nozomi Nishida (Makina Nakajima) and Nao Toyama (Reina Prowler).
The anniversary event "MACROSS Δ 10th Anniversary GRAND CELEBRATION" is scheduled for January 17, 2027 at Shibuya LOVEZ in Tokyo. Confirmed cast appearing at the event include Yuma Uchida (Hayate Immelmann), Minori Suzuki (Freyja Wion), Asami Seto (Mirage Farina Jenius), Ami Koshimizu (Mikumo Guynemer) and KENN (Bogue Con-Vaart), according to Crunchyroll.
Activity resuming after a pause
Walküre was formed in 2016 and has released four CD singles, two digital singles, three original albums and one bonus album. The unit put its musical activities on hold following its arena tour "SANKYO presents Walküre FINAL LIVE TOUR 2023 ~Last Mission~" in March 2023. Macross Delta aired in Japan for 26 episodes from April 3 to September 25, 2016, and was followed by the compilation film Macross Delta: Passionate Walküre in February 2018 and the all-new film Macross Delta: Zettai Live!!!!!! in October 2021.
