Aeruta launches digitally on Switch, PS5 and PS4 on December 10

Gravity Game Arise will release the download version of Aeruta for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on December 10, the publisher announced. Packaged versions and a collector's box with limited bonuses will also go on sale for Switch and PS5 on the same day, according to Automaton Media.

Aeruta is a hybrid action RPG that pairs dungeon-crawling action with a bakery management simulation. Players follow Chaya, a fox-eared girl caught up in a commotion over the Aruta Crystal, who destroys a bakery oven and must work off her debt at the bakery while still aiming to become a hero.

A calendar system lets players decide each day whether to spend it on the action part or the simulation part. Dungeons are built around route selection, with different areas for enemies, wood gathering, strong enemies and treasure.

Bread serves as the main healing item in combat, and varieties such as Ofuton Kai Sand and Pokupoku Chuu carry their own special effects. Bakery work covers stocking shelves, running the register and cleaning up, tasks that part-time staff can eventually take over, and coins earned there go toward building shops and facilities to revitalize Komugi Plaza.

The cast includes the sheep Bolio, the royal knight Shiva and the traveling merchant Merlina. Before trying the Switch version, the reviewer had already played and finished the PC (Steam) release.
