Amanita Design Slams AI Machinarium Video as "Crude AI Anime"
The studio behind Machinarium said a video made with Nura Studios' AI platform has nothing to do with its work and that a love letter should be handwritten.
Amanita Design, the studio developing Machinarium 2, has publicly rejected an AI-generated video based on Machinarium, saying it has nothing to do with its work. The video was posted by Sylvio Drouin, CEO of the AI video platform Nura Studios, according to gamespark.jp.
Amanita Design said the video was produced by feeding Machinarium assets into AI, described it as a crude AI anime, and stressed that it is unrelated to anything the studio has made. The developer also said that a love letter should be handwritten.
Drouin had presented the video as a love letter to Machinarium and said it was made on Nura Studios. He said the aim was to demonstrate ideas including the use of human-made materials, art, voices, sound effects and music in AI-produced content, as well as turning games into an episodic format.
As of the time of writing, Drouin had not responded to Amanita Design's quote-repost of his video.
