Amanita Design has announced Machinarium 2, a sequel to Machinarium arriving 17 years after the original game, according to pcgamer.com. The studio confirmed the project along with the first details about its setting and characters.
The sequel continues the story after Josef and Berta escaped the city, with the pair crash-landing in a hidden valley that is home to two robot tribes. One tribe lives in the Elektrona monastery, while the other inhabits the city of Oilton.
Both Josef and Berta are playable in Machinarium 2, and players can swap between them at will. The game keeps the point-and-click puzzle style of the original.
Tomáš Dvořák, also known as Floex, is confirmed as composer for Machinarium 2.
