Embark Studios released the Frozen Trail update for ARC Raiders, described as the game's biggest update so far, according to wccftech.com. The update is accompanied by a Free Play Weekend running from today through Monday, October 12, and a 50% discount on the base game and Deluxe editions on Steam, Xbox and PlayStation.
Frozen Trail introduces a new northern map called Pendola Pass. It adds three new ground enemies named Bully, Skulker and Hydra, plus a new airborne ARC platform called Frigate. The update also expands player housing with Outposts and extends weapon progression beyond the previous cap.
A Research Station in the update unlocks Weapon Amplification and a Weapon Stencils system. Trials Season 6 also begins with a new set of challenges.
A PvE toggle beta test is scheduled for October 13 to 20, according to the announcement.
