Dataminer Finds Cut Assassin's Creed Scene in Black Flag Resynced
Sliderv2 found a scrapped cutscene in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced featuring Edward Kenway and Miko, and Ubisoft reportedly issued a copyright strike.
A dataminer known as Sliderv2 uncovered a scrapped, half-finished cutscene buried in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, according to Kotaku. Ubisoft allegedly issued a copyright strike against the video of the cutscene.
The cutscene shows Edward Kenway in conversation with Miko, a co-founder of the British Brotherhood of Assassins who appeared in Assassin's Creed: Syndicate. In the scene, Miko says "The king is dead," and the scene then cuts to Adéwalé.
According to the report, the cutscene could have served as a teaser for an Assassin's Creed III prequel. The sequence was not present in the files for the original 2013 release of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.
Where Miko Fits in the Series
Miko is the co-founder of the British Brotherhood of Assassins, which primarily featured in Assassin's Creed: Syndicate. Haytham Kenway personally assassinates Miko during Assassin's Creed III's prologue.
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced ends in 1722, while Assassin's Creed: Freedom Cry begins in 1735, the same year Edward canonically dies. Matthew Ryan voiced Edward Kenway in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.
