Ubisoft adds New Game+ to Assassin's Creed Valhalla in free patch

The Most Requested Update also raises gear levels to 27, adds Mithril for divine gear and brings more than 300 engravable runes.

Ubisoft has released a free patch for Assassin's Creed Valhalla called The Most Requested Update, now live on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, according to news.xbox.com. The update adds New Game+ and a set of related endgame features to the game.

New Game+ becomes available after players complete the Holy Day Quest, with difficulty scaling on each iteration. In that mode, looting Carbon, Nickel and Tungsten from Wealth Chests instead gives Platinum.

The patch introduces Mithril, a new resource used to upgrade divine gear, obtainable in New Game+, Nilfheim, and the Mastery and River Raid shops. The maximum level for each piece of gear rises to 27 from 13.

An Extended Progression Mode makes gear upgrades, runes and masteries contribute to the overall power level. A Stash in Ravensthorpe lets players store any gear and any rune from their inventory.

Runes can now be upgraded for silver from the menu and can reach a new Superior tier, and more than 300 engravable runes have been added. David Larouche, Lead Game Designer on Assassin's Creed Valhalla, is credited on the update.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla received its final content update years before The Most Requested Update, and New Game+ had long been one of the most requested features from fans.
