Athanasia, dinosaur immersive sim, launches in early access on Steam

Momentum Games and Black Lantern Collective released Athanasia in early access on Steam on October 19, 2026, according to Rock Paper Shotgun. The first-person dinosaur immersive sim is a homage to Dino Crisis and System Shock.
Players control researcher Carmen Flores, who is sent to an abandoned scientific facility in South America. The early access build includes three of the six planned areas, along with most of the enemy and item types.
The developers said that depending on community feedback and the pace of development they may add extra areas, items or enemies beyond the current plan, but that the main focus is delivering what was promised.
Full release planned for 2027
A complete version of Athanasia is expected sometime in 2027. The early access release arrives amid continued work by Capcom on its Resident Evil remakes, and follows recent immersive sim launches such as RetroSpace.
