BEEP to ship X68000 Xanadu ports in 2026

BEEP said at the MI68 retro PC event in Akihabara that the two ports will come as two-disc packages, priced at around 10,000 yen.

BEEP announced at the MI68 retro PC event that its X68000 ports of Xanadu and Xanadu Scenario II will be released within 2026. The company said reservations are expected to open around November 2026, according to Akiba PC Watch Impress.

The ports are converted from the PC-8801mkIISR versions and target real X68000 hardware with at least 1MB of memory. Each release will be a two-disc package, with one disc for Xanadu and one for Xanadu Scenario II, offered in both 3.5-inch and 5-inch versions.

Every package will include a manual, and the package size will follow BEEP's earlier X68000 releases. The provisional price is around 10,000 yen.

BEEP staff at the booth said production numbers will be limited because of media availability, and recommended that buyers reserve copies. BEEP producer Maruyama and programmer Fu-. were at the booth for the demo.
