Nexon to Prep New PC Setup for Blue Archive After 2027 Switch

Nexon says the current PC client stays usable until the publisher-change maintenance begins, with new PC plans to be detailed later.

Nexon has said it is preparing a new environment for playing Blue Archive on PC once the Japanese publishing rights move to the company, according to a Q&A page cited by Game*Spark. The company said the timing and details of that setup will be announced later.

Until the maintenance for the publisher change begins, the current PC version of Blue Archive remains usable, Nexon stated. That client is the one downloadable from the game's official website and was released in January 2026.

A Steam version of Blue Archive also exists worldwide, but it is intended for users outside Japan and cannot be used from Japan. Game*Spark has asked Nexon whether the Steam version will be brought to the Japanese market; the company has not given an answer in the published material.

Account migration and schedule

In January 2027, the Japanese publishing rights for Blue Archive move from Yostar to Nexon, a change the companies have framed as unifying development, operation and IP expansion with developer NEXON Games. The maintenance for the handover is scheduled for January 2027, with a detailed schedule to be announced during November 2026.

After that maintenance, logins will switch to NEXON member accounts and Yostar ID will no longer be usable in Blue Archive. Nexon says all game account data, including pyroxene, carries over as long as the account is linked to a Yostar ID and a prior application is completed before the maintenance starts.

Blue Archive has been in service since 2021. Its Steam release drew many negative reviews overseas after changes to the gacha system; as of writing, recent reviews have recovered to "Mostly Positive".
