Capcom shares fall sharply as full-year forecast left unchanged
Capcom's stock dropped for the first time in three days after the company held its full-year earnings forecast despite 49% second-quarter sales growth.
Capcom shares fell sharply on October 28, marking the company's first decline in three days, according to gamebiz.jp. The drop came a day after the company kept its full-year earnings forecast unchanged.
On October 27, Capcom reported second-quarter sales up 49% year on year and operating profit up 54% year on year. Despite the gains, the unchanged full-year forecast appeared to trigger disappointed selling.
The company's interim results also showed operating profit up 54% to 60.7 billion yen, with Pragmata surpassing 2.7 million copies and Onimusha Way of the Sword surpassing 1.7 million copies. Repeat sales of Resident Evil and Monster Hunter also grew during the period.
Capcom has previously set out its lineup of new titles for the second half of the fiscal year and beyond, including three undated titles such as Resident Evil Veronica.
